What every art teacher knows too well! How do you substitute one material or tool for another? From using spoons for printmaking and ceramics, to foam core straight edges… lucky for us that art is about creative solutions. In this situation, the foam core strips don’t last very long after the project. They do the trick temporarily. You might find a tougher material better suited. This is what happened to already be abundant in the classroom. This way I’m not buying things out of pocket right away. It just takes a little time and a slight hand cramp!
